SOBA 2015
- STATE OF THE BODY ADDRESS
After watching our Highly dramatic #SONA - STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS
I realized that as a country , we are striving we are not doomed yet BUT ... we have a LOT
to address ! We need to stop making promises , stop setting
"unreachable" goals , stop BLAMING an START ACTING ... START WORKING
and we better get to it RIGHT AWAY !!
... This is exactly how i feel about the HUMAN BODY !!! We have a lot to
address in our own bodies ! We need set realistic goals , deliver on our
personal health promises , stick to resolutions , LET GO of processed food , research
the food we are eating, how much HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP is in there? !! So
many South Africans are dying of Chronic diseases ... and I’m not saying lets
skip death, but lets live a healthy full life till we eventually do die ! DEAL?
What
is Chronic Disease?
Chronic Disease is a long-lasting condition that can be controlled but not cured. Chronic illness affects the population worldwide. As described by the Centers for Disease Control, chronic disease is the leading cause of death and disability. Data from the World Health Organization show that chronic disease is also the major cause of premature death around the world even in places where infectious disease are rampant. Although chronic diseases are among the most common and costly health problems, they are also among the most preventable and most can be effectively controlled.
Examples of chronic diseases that comprise the Center's research and demonstration agenda are:
Allergy
Alzheimer's Disease Caregivers
Asthma
Breast Cancer
Diabetes
Epilepsy
Glaucoma
Heart Disease
Obesity and Overweight
